Crowds were thick enough at Walt Disney World today that three parks closed or diverted traffic at various times this afternoon, but by 5:15 all was back to normal.
Because they reached capacity, Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom both closed by 1:15 p.m. The Magic Kingdom was reopened by 2:30 p.m., and Animal Kingdom by 3 p.m.
At Disney-MGM Studios there were parking issues, and traffic was diverted away from the main parking lots for a couple of hours after 3 p.m.
Epcot ran as normal all day, said Disney spokesman Jacob DiPietre.
It's not unsual for Disney parks to reach capacity this time of year. Magic Kingdom shut down for 55 minutes on Christmas. During last year's Christmas season the Magic Kingdom parking lot also was closed for awhile one day. It's unclear, however, when the last time was that Disney had to limit access to three parks in the same day.
